                        From the Grand Knight:

(Belated) Happy New Year!!!

May the blessings and peace of Christ be with you and your families.

Over the Christmas holiday, I had the opportunity to speak with many of our Brother Knights, whether at Christmas Day Mass, New Year’s Day Mass for the feast of Mary the Mother of God, during the Live Nativity at OLM, working at Tanglewood and over the phone. Thank you all for your Christmas wishes, greeting cards, emails, and calls.

Our Knights of Columbus Fraternal year is half over, and we have many events and activities behind us now.  We have had a wonderful Op LAMB effort, another terrific BBQ, and a successful go at the Tanglewood Festival of Lights.  We have also had six Brothers join our Council, hosted seven monthly Rosaries, assisted with another successful Mercy Five Miler, and begun encouraging members and their families to spend time in silent adoration of the Blessed Sacrament.  Our Brother Knights have worked cleaning the grounds of our Church, spreading mulch on the Kindergarten playground, and assisted with the Live Nativity.

Thank you for your involvement with our Knights of Columbus Council, 10504.

There will be many opportunities to continue the wonderful work that our Council is doing in the upcoming months.  Of course there will be monthly business meetings, and I encourage you to attend whenever possible; but there are also other monthly events that we as Knights should support whenever we are able.  There will be a Rosary hosted by our council every 4th Saturday, as well as Adoration on the First Friday of every month.  I ask you, my Brother Knights, to support our Council and parish by participating in these events.  There are also youth activities scheduled, as well as Stations of the Cross during Lent.  Plans for a Wives Appreciation dinner are being finalized (March 8th),our First Founder’s Day Pot Luck dinner on March 29th, and a Council Awards event following the incoming officers’ installation is scheduled to be held on Saturday June 14th. 7-9pm

Please refer to our Council website (kc10504.tripod.com) for information on meeting dates and times, as well as other Council activities.  Please remember that our February business meeting has been moved to the 13th since Ash Wednesday falls on the first Wednesday of the month, February 6th.

Please consider spending half an hour to an hour in silent adoration.  There is a sign up sheet in the church, or you may let Dave Bowe , Tim McCulloch or me,  know via email if you will be able to spend time as a “Watchkeeper”  on First Fridays.

God Bless You, and Peace be with You,

         Vivat Jesus!!!

         Vince
